News, Notes, and
Quotes
February 27, 2003
Greetings from Mr. Z.
Yesterday I was approached by the Hill Student Council to approve
a project they have proposed. I'm really sharing this information
with you so that you understand what a privilege it is to work with
your kids because this project is so representative of all Hill
kids. The Student Council is sponsoring a poster contest on "Building
Good Character By........" The suggestions they provide for
participants not only reflect on the general character of Hill kids
but made me think the world would be a better place if adults followed
them too. Some of the ideas are: telling the truth, knowing when
to say no, knowing when to say yes, always trying your best, keeping
a promise, admitting to your mistakes, standing up for your friends,
helping someone out (just for a thank you), being a good sport,
and, finally.....practice, practice, practice. Wow.....it's difficult
to say anything more than that. As parents, please don't worry about
the future and who will run our country.........Hill kids will do
just fine!!
Dollars for Education Program
Hill School Student Council is sponsoring the Hy-Vee Dollars for
Education Program. Hy-Vee will donate $1.00 to Hill School for every
$100 worth of receipts we collect. So far this school year, we have
received approximately $8000 worth of Hy-Vee receipts. The program
ends on April 6th and our goal is $20,000 worth of Hy-Vee receipts.
Thanks in advance for your assistance in helping us reach our goal!
