scheduled for the remainder of the year. It is probably not complete
but it’s close........should help you in keeping your family
calendars organized.
Artist in Residence at Hill
Thanks to Mrs. Churley (Hill PE teacher), the Hill PTA and the Nebraska
Arts Council, Hill will host John “Fax” Gilbert a mime
artist from Fairfield, Iowa. Mime, Masks and Magic will be our all
school assembly Monday morning, January 6th. Fax will work Tuesday
through Friday with all classes during their regularly scheduled
PE times. Mime is a unique nonverbal performing art in which the
technique of portraying a character, mood, idea or narration is
done through gestures and bodily movements. Thanks again, Mrs. Churley
and Hill PTA.
Hill Parent Teacher Conferences
Conferences are scheduled for Feb. 13 (kdg. only), Feb. 18 (kdg.
only), Feb. 20 (gr. 1-5 only), and Feb. 25 (all grades). Appointment
books will be in the office beginning January 13th. You also can
call the office to arrange a conference time.
Long Range Facilities Planning
Hill parents are strongly encouraged to give input to the district
regarding long range facility planning. The company LPS has hired
for the study will be meeting with parents and other community members
at Lincoln Southwest High School on January 15th at 7:00 pm. This
is a rapidly growing area of the city that needs representation
at this meeting......please attend. It will also be a great night
for a peek at the new Southwest High School. Hope to see you there!
Explore! Afterschool Enrichment Classes
After a great fall semester of Spanish, Sign, and Chess classes,
Explore! will take a brief break and resume the first week of February.
Registrations for spring semester
classes will be sent home with students when school resumes after
the break. Thanks to all of our students and teachers for making
language and chess classes such a success!
